Celebrating a Century

Lake Martin’s Lasting Legacy

For a century, Lake Martin has stood as both a source of energy for the state and a gathering place for our community—providing power, recreation, and a shared sense of pride. It has been central to the memories of families across Alabama and reminds us of how much can grow out of partnership. When Benjamin Russell and Tom Martin embarked on the development of Lake Martin, it was with a mutual understanding that natural beauty and innovation would work together to drive opportunity for the state.

As we celebrate 100 years, we honor the people whose vision and stewardship have made Lake Martin a cornerstone of our collective story.

Marking a Historic Year

Branding

As part of Lake Martin’s centennial, a graphic mark was created to celebrate the lake’s beauty and unite organizations, events, and initiatives throughout the year.

Celebrating 100 Years with Music and Heart

Lake Martin Songwriter’s Festival

Each year, the Lake Martin Songwriter’s Festival brings talented musicians to our community, sharing a love of music and creativity with people across the Lake Martin area.

This year, as part of the Lake Martin Centennial Anniversary, we are proud to continue that tradition with a special benefit concert featuring the Marcus King Band. Held on Saturday evening during the festival, this event will raise funds for the Lake Martin Arts Council and be distributed for the benefit of the community.

We are excited to continue our support of the Lake Martin Songwriter’s Festival and hope you will make plans to attend the concert in July.
